New Program Provides Writing Assistance

ISEE now provides manuscript editing assistance to existing and new members! The Peer Editing Program (PEP) aims to increase acceptance rates of high-quality research manuscripts submitted by researchers affiliated with institutions in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) and those from under-represented minority groups. Go to the PEP webpage for more information and eligibility criteria.

ISEE 2022 Annual Conference

The beautiful city of Athens, Greece is looking forward to bringing together academic and industrial experts in environmental research and public health to share their recent findings.

ISEE-AWPC & ISES-AC Joint Virtual Conference

The theme of the conference is “Influence of Environmental Factors on Human Health, Potential and Resilience.” Jointly organized by the National University of Singapore and Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences, it will be held virtually June 20-21, 2022. We welcome abstract, symposium and workshop submissions through February 28, 2022. Visit the conference website here.


Call for Award Nominations

The ISEE Awards Committee is soliciting nominations by March 30, 2022. Different awards are for specific career stages ranging from senior scientists (John Goldsmith Award for Outstanding Contributions to Environmental Epidemiology), mid-career (Tony McMichael Mid-Term Career Award), and new investigator (Rebecca James Baker Award). 

 

We are also asking for nominations for the Research Integrity Award and the Best Environmental Epidemiology Paper Award. 

 

In addition, there are SNRN best abstract awards for students and early career researchers participating in the annual conferences.

 

There is also a new award for the best abstract from low and middle-income countries (LMICs). LMIC Awards are aimed at ISEE members with more than 5-years’ experience since their terminal degree (Masters or Doctorate).

Apply to be spotlighted in the annual SNRN @ ISEE North American Chapter (NAC) Webinar

 

We have started an exciting tradition of inviting an ISEE NAC SNRN member as a guest speaker for the annual SNRN @ ISEE NAC webinar. This is an excellent opportunity to share your science and scholarship with the ISEE community! Please complete this google form. The ISEE NAC and SNRN Committee Members will select an individual to present at the webinar.

 

Eligibility requirements are to be <5 years from earning your terminal degree, an active ISEE member, and affiliated with a North American Chapter institution.

Invitation to Join the Ethics and Philosophy Committee

Environmental epidemiologists have increasingly found themselves under attack in the past several years. If you are interested in working with colleagues on issues such as evaluation of the effects of undisclosed conflicts of interest and suppression of scientific research, please consider joining the Ethics and Philosophy Committee. One of ISEE’s oldest Committees, we aim to strengthen and promote ethics and philosophy in environmental epidemiology.
