Last Call: Award Nominations Due!

The ISEE Awards Committee is soliciting nominations by March 26, 2021. Different awards are for specific career stages from senior scientists (John Goldsmith Award for Outstanding Contributions to Environmental Epidemiology), mid-career (Tony McMichael Mid-Term Career Award), and new investigator (Rebecca James Baker Award). We are also asking for nominations for the Research Integrity Award and the Best Environmental Epidemiology Paper Award. Nomination instructions for each award may be found within each link above.

Policy Committee Open Meeting

Join Us on March 26th! Policy Committee Open Meeting - ISEE
Advocacy Role in 2021 and Beyond

All ISEE members are invited to participate in an Open Meeting hosted by the Policy Committee on March 26, 10-11:30 am ET (find your local time here).

The ISEE is seeking to define its future role in advocacy to best serve its members and to see what resources are needed to be put in place for that purpose.

Hear about current policy work in the regional chapters and the Policy Committee, and learn how to communicate effectively from a non-partisan advocacy expert. This will be followed by a panel discussion with participation of the audience - we are keen to learn about your views and needs!

See the agenda for details and program information. Register here.

New Member Experience

To better serve you, ISEE is excited to announce that we are launching a new member portal and web site this spring. Please watch your email boxes in April and May for Subject line: New ISEE Member Portal for information about how to login to the new portal and update your profile. We encourage all members who need to renew before May 1 to pay their dues promptly! During the transition in April, processing times may be delayed, and we do not want to miss anyone. Please address your questions to the ISEE Secretariat.

ISEE Draft Strategic Plan - Your Feedback is Requested

The Executive Council welcomes your feedback on the draft ISEE Strategic Plan for 2021-2024. The draft was developed based on input from an analysis of ISEE’s Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) completed by ISEE leadership in early 2020 and a member survey completed in fall 2020.

Please review the draft plan, and provide feedback to the ISEE Secretary/Treasurer, Michelle Turner, by March 31.

Journal News

ISEE has established an agreement designating the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (IJERPH) as an affiliated ISEE journal. The arrangement is in effect for a one-year trial period, at which point both sides will determine if the partnership should be extended, modified, or terminated. IJERPH is an open access journal with many ISEE members as Editors and Special Issue leads. Read more about member benefits as part of the agreement.
