Annual Conference News & Education

   ISEE 2021, August 23-26

We look forward to seeing you at the 33rd Annual Conference of the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology (ISEE 2021) to discuss the latest findings with colleagues from all around the world !

The Annual Conference Committee is seeking the input of ISEE members to ensure we cover important emerging topics in environmental epidemiology and help shape the conference program. Please take a moment to complete this survey to provide your ideas and suggestions of session topics you would like to attend. The deadline to complete the survey is Friday, May 21, 2021 at 23:59 EDT.

We have also just announced the call for late-breaking abstracts! This is another opportunity to submit an abstract and share your exciting work with colleagues! Please note that late-breaking abstracts are only eligible for e-poster sessions. The deadline for submission is Friday, June 4, at 23:59 EDT.

This year there will not be any pre-conference workshops. Instead, we will be spreading the workshops throughout the year to additionally facilitate continuous engagement with ISEE members. If you are interested in organizing an online workshop during the 2021-2022 academic year, please submit an ISEE Workshop Submission Form. The deadline for submissions is Friday, June 11, at 23:59 EDT.

The registration system for ISEE 2021 will be open soon!

Ethics & Philosophy

Survey of Stressors Faced by Epidemiologists

The COVID-19 pandemic, the climate crisis, and pressures on scientists have made epidemiologic research challenging. Epidemiology researchers face unique difficulties as well as new opportunities. To understand the situation better, in July 2021 the ISEE Ethics & Philosophy Committee will launch a survey on the living situation, adversities and health of researchers.

The survey will provide results that the society can use to improve health in general and the health of researchers in particular. All ISEE members will be invited to participate. For more information contact Jutta Lindert.
