Other speakers included: Andy Haines of the London School of Hygiene and Topical Medicine on “The Pathfinder Initiative,” Khristopher Nicholas of Tufts on “Health-promoting dietary interventions in Global North and South," and Vanessa Kerry of the Harvard Medical School on “Healthcare resilience in global South”. The presentations are viewable online in Session 34 here.

Mary Rice also organized and spoke at a session entitled “Integrating Art, Indigenous Wisdom, and Science for Climate Action,” that explored how artistic approaches, indigenous knowledge, and evidence-based communication paired with real-world energy, urban planning, and food interventions can mobilize climate action.

In addition, Kurt Straif organized and spoke at a Side Event session entitled “Health Priorities in the Climate Talks: From Rhetoric to Action”. George Thurston was also a speaker regarding the climate benefits of clean air policy actions.

Overview of the Navigation Guide Evidence-to-Decision Framework for Environmental Health

Discussion of the Evolution of Systematic Reviews

Register

Systematic reviews use transparent, valid, and consistent methods to a research question that leads to less bias and error and thus, improves trust in the results. Over the last decade, authoritative bodies, U.S> agencies, and academic scientists developed and implemented validated, peer-reviewed systematic review methods including the UCSF-PRHE Navigation Guide and the U.S. National Toxicology Program's OHAT. These methods which are considered the gold standard for evaluating evidence have been adopted or recommended by the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, including for the U.S. EPA to adopt to strengthen its own risk evaluations.

Please join us on Monday, February 23 1:00 PM EST (click to find time in your location).
