ISEE 2023 Awards

Call for Nominations

The ISEE Awards Committee is soliciting nominations by March 30, 2023. Different awards are for specific career stages ranging from senior scientists (John Goldsmith Award for Outstanding Contributions to Environmental Epidemiology), mid-career (Tony McMichael Mid-Term Career Award), and new investigator (Rebecca James Baker Award).

We are also asking for nominations for the Research Integrity Award and the Best Environmental Epidemiology Paper Award.

In addition, there are SNRN best abstract awards for students and early career researchers participating in the annual conferences as well as awards for the best abstracts from low and middle-income countries (LMICs). LMIC Best Abstract Awards recognize ISEE members with more than 5-years’ experience since their terminal degree (Masters or Doctorate).

Nominate Yourself as a Fellow!

The ISEE Fellow designation provides recognition of long-term ISEE members in their achievements as environmental epidemiologists impacting research, training, community engagement, translation or policy. This designation reflects the valuable service rendered by the applicant to the Society and the Council and their standing in the field as recognized by their peers at ISEE. Fellows engage in activities that contribute to advancing the mission of ISEE in its effort to address new and continuing challenges to public and environmental health in a rapidly changing world at the local, national, or international level.

Who can be a fellow? Fellow is the highest grade of membership and is designated for those who have a significant level of experience in environmental health, particularly in environmental epidemiology. Anyone who is a current ISEE regular member and has been a member for a total of 5 years or more (even if not continuously) is eligible to apply.

Applications are open to become an ISEE Fellow here.

ISEE CAPE Writing Accountability Groups

Looking for peers to support your writing process? A New Year's resolution to get that half-finished paper out? Join ISEE CAPE's Early Investigator's Writing Groups! Sign up here.

Why join ISEE CAPE - Early Career Investigator Writing Groups? Are you an early career ISEE member looking to get that dissertation paper out the door? The ISEE Capacity Building and Education (CAPE) has a potential remedy for you! Sign up to be partnered with a community of peers who share experience with writing papers and grants, are experienced environmental epidemiologists, and who, most importantly, share your goals! The ISEE CAPE early career researcher writing program will launch in Spring 2023. Our target audience is researchers seeking to establish independent research programs (e.g. postdocs, early career faculty and researchers inside or outside academia). ISEE CAPE will organize an introductory meeting in early 2023 with all interested researchers to formally describe the program, expectations, and lists of participants. We plan to use a decentralized model, in which groups will have one member who will liaise with ISEE CAPE organizers for guidance on frequency of scheduling.  Interested in learning more? Please share some information with us to gauge interest and to form groups (we anticipate these will be 3-4 people, organized by time availability).
