We are currently offering a Postdoctoral Research fellowship focused on Occupational Epidemiology with a particular emphasis on research involving healthcare worker well-being and a secondary focus on occupational lung exposures. The fellowship is supported by the faculty of Northwell\'s Department of Occupational Medicine, Epidemiology and Prevention (OMEP) and will involve direct mentorship from Dr. Rebecca Schwartz, the senior director of research for the department and secondary mentorship from Dr. Jacqueline Moline, the OMEP Department Chairperson. The fellowship will allow for robust training experiences focused on the intersection between occupational stress and well-being, particularly in the healthcare setting, as well as oversight of a large occupational lung registry.
The Fellow will receive the following opportunities:
- Mentoring around developing a program of research that facilitates productivity in the publication of manuscripts, presentation of abstracts, and submission of grant applications.
- Training in the conduct of occupational-related mental health research as it pertains to various populations with a primary focus on occupational stress and healthcare work. There will be opportunity to work with large databases containing well-being and mental health data. Additional potential research cohorts include Veterans and 9/11 World Trade Center responders (for both mental health and other occupational exposures).
- Training in the oversight and management of a large Occupational Lung Registry (OLR) including opportunities for research and publications using the OLR data.
The position will begin in the Fall of 2026 and is a two-year position. The annual salary is approximately $85,000. Qualifications:
- Candidates must have completed their doctorate in occupational epidemiology or a related field.
- Demonstrated academic success as evidenced by publications, experience with designing and executing research studies and grant writing; and a strong foundation in epidemiologic methodology.
