Co-led by the ISEE Policy Committee and the ISEE Student and New Researchers Network (SNRN) , this workshop will introduce real-world examples of environmental epidemiologic research that have informed major policy decisions. Given that translating epidemiologic evidence for policymakers is not typically included in epidemiologic curricula, some researchers may not receive formal instruction on how to communicate their work beyond scientific audiences.

In this workshop, participants will learn to 1) translate scientific findings into appropriate policy communication tools, and 2) apply key principles for translating research into policy and action. This workshop will also include a hands-on exercise focused on policy translation.
