Event Description

The SNRN Rapid Response Initiative (RRI) aims to advance collaborative efforts of scientific integrity and advocacy among early career researchers. We invite you to participate in our next webinar on Thursday, February 19th at 11:00am EST, featuring Dr. Fabian Dablander, postdoctoral researcher at SEVEN, the interdisciplinary climate institute of the University of Amsterdam.

As climate and ecological breakdown intensifies, more scientists are stepping beyond traditional academic roles into advocacy and activism. Let’s discuss the evolving role of science in times of planetary crisis. In this talk, Dr. Dablander will draw on recent research and personal experience to explore:
  • Why scientists engage in climate activism
  • Avenues for engagement
  • Its impacts on public trust, policy, and scientific careers
This webinar will be moderated by Drs. Lizbeth Gomez and Rachit Sharma.
