Event Description
Environmental epidemiology studies increasingly evaluate multiple exposures, in recognition of the fact that human populations are exposed to a wide range of chemical and non-chemical stressors, which may affect common health outcomes. However, the choice of study design and analysis methods to evaluate health effects of mixtures requires careful consideration and depends upon the specific research question and characteristics of the study population. This session will introduce the concept of mixtures research in environmental epidemiology, some of the key considerations for researchers, and overview commonly encountered statistical methods. The course is designed for individuals with some exposure to epidemiology, having taken at least one basic course in the subject.
