Her research examines the impact of exposures to thousands of chemicals on fertility, women's health, and menstrual health. She specializes in the untargeted chemical exposome and metabolome using advanced data science techniques to identify cumulative health effects of complex chemical mixtures, discover previously unknown environmental risk factors, and elucidate underlying biological mechanisms of disease.\n\n\n\n\nJulia Varshavsky, PhD, MPH\nDr. Varshavsky is an Assistant Professor of Environmental Health at Northeastern University, with a joint appointment in the Department of Health Sciences, Bouve College of Health Sciences, and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, College of Engineering. Julia studies modifiable environmental exposures, with a focus on PFAS and maternal-child health outcomes in susceptible and highly exposed populations.
